EAA Web Session: "Solvency II Update"
Introduction & Programme
The amended Solvency II Directive entered into force on 28 January 2025 and will apply from 30 January 2027 following national transposition.
This web session will provide an overview of the key amendments introduced by the revised Directive and the main attention points from the Delegated Regulation published on 29 October 2025 by the Commission. It will also cover the ongoing EIOPA consultation papers and the contribution of the AAE Solvency II Working Group.
You will gain a clear understanding of the practical implications of the new framework, its expected impact on insurers and supervisors, and the preparatory steps needed ahead of the 2027 application date.

Learning Objectives & Approach
The objective of this web session is to explain the participants active in Solvency II the changes in the EU prudential framework and exchange on quantitative, qualitative and modelling implementation. To make the session even more interactive and fix key take aways, we will end up with a quiz.

Participants are expected to have some basic knowledge on the 3 pillars of Solvency II.

Daphné de Leval
Daphné de Leval is a Belgian IA|Be and IA Qualified Actuary with more than 20 years of professional experience. She specializes in life insurance actuarial techniques, pension funds and risk management. She has worked on diverse functions: Solvency II implementation, Actuarial Function, Risk management, Financial and Prudential audit, IFRS 17 implementation, M&A. She is an active Actuary at IA|Be (SII WG-Chair) and AAE (Insurance Committee & Solvency II WG- Vice-Chair). She is passionate about learning and teaching to have a positive impact on society and gives regularly training sessions at EAA.
Michael Leitschkis
Dr. Michael Leitschkis is Managing Partner at Kynesis consulting. He has previously served as Principal at a leading consulting firm and Group Chief Actuary at a large international insurance group, brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry notably in Germany, the UK and Bermuda. Michael is a frequent public speaker at international actuarial conferences and teaches risk modelling within the CERA curriculum of the European Actuarial Academy.

Regular Registration Fee (from 16 May 2026):
- For private customers in the EU: €315.00 + VAT of the billing country (example Germany: €374.85 incl. 19% VAT)

- For businesses within the EU (excl. Germany, with valid VAT ID): €315.00 (net, reverse charge applies)
- For businesses in Germany: €374.85 (incl. 19% VAT)
Important VAT Information:
- For private customers with a billing address in an EU country: VAT will be charged at the applicable rate in the country of the billing address. The final amount, including VAT, will be calculated upon invoicing.
- For customers with a non-EU (third country) billing address: Only a non-company billing address is accepted for VAT compliance reasons. 19% VAT applies to all non-EU private customers.
- For businesses within the EU (excluding Germany), Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK with a valid VAT ID: The reverse charge mechanism applies (net price; VAT will not be charged). Please ensure your valid VAT ID is entered correctly during registration.
- For all customers with a billing address in Germany: 19% VAT applies.
Please submit your registration using our online form. Closer to the event, you will receive further login details to join the web session.
Your registration is binding. Cancellation is only possible up to 2 weeks before the first day of the event. If you cancel later, the full participation fee is due. You may appoint someone to take your place but must notify us in advance. EAA has the right to cancel the event if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
We will send you an invoice via email. Please allow a few days for handling. Please always give your invoice number when you effect payment. All bank charges are to be borne by the participant.
