Cross-Border: How to Achieve Fast & Efficient Tariff Implementation

Cross-Border business holds significant importance in Europe’s insurance industry. Those involved in this business are well aware of its biggest challenges, particularly from a legal perspective.

However, addressing legal issues and meticulously determining each parameter of the retained tariff is insufficient to guarantee a successful product rollout across borders. The aim of this webinar is to focus on a crucial technical issue of cross-border pricing: the implementation of multiple tariffs into the IT system.

While this issue is relevant to the administration systems of all insurers operating within a single country, the lecture aims to demonstrate that fast and efficient implementation is even more critical in a cross-border context, using a concrete company’s business as a case study.

In this web session, we will not only discuss the primary challenges associated with implementing multiple tariffs into the IT system, but also delve into our approach to tackling these challenges. We will present helpful concepts we use to implement tariffs, illustrated with a live case study. Finally, we will emphasize the significance of integrating these tariffs with other insurance business processes within a unified IT system.

Without claiming to have experience from 27 EU countries, the referents will share their knowledge and experience about implementing tariffs for more than 10 countries.

Participants

This web session is designed for managers or actuaries who are interested in IT topics or already working with IT Systems for cross-border business.

Technical Requirements
Please check with your IT department if your firewall and computer settings support web session participation (the programme Zoom will be used for this online training). Please also make sure that you are joining the web session with a stable internet connection.

Purpose and Nature

The objective of this web session is to provide an introductory understanding of cross-border business, followed by a specific focus on the technical implementation of cross-border tariffs in the IT system. To exemplify this, we will delve into a case study conducted within Squarelife's administration (test) system.
As a result of the web session, we will have implemented a simple term life product that meets all regulatory requirements - from accounting to reporting -, the tariffs of which are differentiated across three European countries. We will let the participants vote at the beginning of the web session which three countries these will be.

Language

The language of the web session will be English.
